Getting Started

The Office of Online Learning and the Educational Technology Department are here to support you in using Canvas as a web-enhancement tool for your non-credit face to face classes. Visit our Canvas Faculty Resource Center to learn more about Canvas, how to get training, how to support your students using Canvas, and how to import a course template from Canvas Commons that will provide you with more time to enhance your learning content and provide students with better navigation, clear directions, and just-in-time resources when/where they need it most.

This Canvas course and welcome message are unpublished and not available to your students. Our hope is to have everyone use Canvas to better support their students, but if you choose not to use Canvas for your face to face class, your students will not have access to this course and will not see this message.

If you are planning to import previously created content from a sandbox or another course into this shell, please review this handout on how to Copy a Canvas course from semester to semester.

TLC Newsletter

During the semester, the Technology Learning Center (TLC) will send out a weekly newsletter which includes information about the TLC lab, a faculty drop-in computer lab in Batmale Hall, Room 313, on the Ocean Avenue Campus and training/resources to help you successfully use Canvas with your face to face classes.
