Week 12

Self-Assessment

Purpose

This self-assessment is the most important activity each week. It's my starting point for understanding what you learned this week when I sit down to grade you. It's also your chance to reflect on what you're doing well and what you need to work on, and to set goals for next week.

In general, the point of assessment is that it tells us where we can direct our effort in the future to learn more and become better mathematicians. When we learn to do it well, self-assessment is the best kind of assessment – we get the feedback right away instead of waiting to hear it from someone else, and because we ourselves gave the feedback, we internalize it more fully and we're more likely to actually do the next steps.

Each week you'll do a self-assessment that helps you figure out where your understanding currently is, how well you're functioning as a student, and what your next steps are to improve. It will probably take around 30-60 minutes.

Self-Assessment Instructions

This self-assessment should be your last stop each week. After you've done the quiz and completed all the assignments, this is your chance to step back and see how you're doing.

There's no time limit – take all the time you need. You can close the window and come back to your work later if you'd like. I recommend taking the time to look back at your work this week, so your answers reflect the fullest possible understanding of what you've achieved.

Submission

When you have completed the self-assessment to the best of your ability, click the "Submit" button located at the bottom right of the screen.
