Course Information

HIT 50B is the second of courses on the roots, prefixes, suffixes, and abbreviations used to form and define medical terminology. The systems-based terminology covers anatomy, vocabulary, disease states, anomalies, endoscopic and surgical procedures, laboratory findings and standard pharmaceuticals in systems such as: blood, endocrine and psychiatry. We will cover the second part of the textbook, starting on chapter 13. 2 units.

Important Dates

This online class requires: 

  1. Live meetings via CityZoom that takes place on Mondays from 5:10PM to 7:00 PM (Live lecture-Synchronous).
  2. Asynchronous online activities and assignments via Canvas.


The course will start Monday, January 13, 2025 and end with our Final Exam on Monday, May 19, 2025 (camera on).
