A bit about me...

My name is Cyrus Manian. I use he/they pronouns which means either he/him or they/them in referring to me is appropriate and respectable. I have been teaching psychology at CCSF since August of 2022, but that was not where my psychology career began. I earned my bachelor's in psychology at University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC), Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUe), and Master of Science in Clinical Psychology at Palo Alto University. Between these degrees, I worked in psychiatric hospitals, inpatient behavioral health units, and community mental health centers. I am currently a doctoral candidate in Palo Alto University's Clinical Psychology PhD program with an emphasis in LGBTQ+ and Health psychology. Professionally, I like to say I have many hats including instructor, student, research assistant, and student therapist.

Milo and RemusPersonally, I identify as a "psychology nerd." You will probably experience me "geeking out" over random psychology topics because I love the field and its applicability to the communities we live in. On top of those professional roles I mentioned, I am a dog dad to two quirky pups names Milo and Remus (see picture). I love plants, cooking, watching movies, bingeing shows, playing video games, playing board/card games with my partner and friends, writing, and being active when I have the free time.

Many of my mentors used to say "my door is always open" to mean that if their advisees and students needed anything, they were available to help. Since being in the online format, this saying is not as relevant, so I guess I will tell you, "my inbox is always open." Please do not hesitate to send me an email with questions, concerns, or to schedule a time to meet.
