Purpose
The purpose of this scenario activity is to give you an opportunity to apply what you have learned to a typical call for service you might receive as a patrol officer. Use all that you have learned so far to work through the scenario.
This activity relates to SLO 4 - Identify crime problems and effective justice system responses in the LGBTQ+ community.
Quiz Instructions
This scenario activity is focused on successful interactions with a hate crime victim. Read the scenario details below and then respond to each of the questions as you progress through the initial interview of the victim involved in this case. You will get feedback and additional information after each step. You will earn 5 points for completing this activity.
Scenario:
You are dispatched to a reported assault at Central High School. The reporting party is the school assistant principal who tells you a freshman student was assaulted during an incident of bullying at the school.
The incident happened in the boys locker room and several students captured the incident in pictures with their phones. A teacher discovered the incident and brought all of the involved students to the office. The assistant principal tells you that incidents of bullying have been escalating with this victim-student because other students think he is gay.
The victim is sitting in a room by himself when you arrive.
