Course Description

A scientific approach to the study of behavior and mental processes designed for both majors and non-majors. Topics include: research methods, biology of behavior, sensory systems, learning, memory, life-span development, motivation, emotion, personality theories, social psychology, abnormal psychology, and psychotherapy.

This course is designed for general education or for those students majoring in one of the behavioral sciences. Psychology 1 meets the requirements for CCSF GE Area D and is required for the CCSF AA-T degree in Psychology. This course is CSU and UC transferable and fulfills CSU GE Area D and IGETC Area 4: Social and Behavioral Sciences.
