United States History 2

Course Description

This course will explore the major events and cultural trends that shaped the United States from the end of the Civil War in 1865 to end of the 1920s. After a brief introduction to the thinking skills of the historical discipline, we will tackle the complex topic of reconstructing our nation after the Civil War. We then move on to examining race, gender, and class as significant factors that drove the close of the nineteenth century. The course will end by asking what is the United States' role in the world, and how do our policies and actions influence the global community.

Synchronous Online Meeting Days

We will have Zoom check-ins on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 AM - 10 AM to preview new lessons, engage in Q and A and practice collaborative learning.
