Overview

In this 2-week module, students will learn about the 1955 Montgomery Bus Boycott and examine five documents in preparation for a claim/evidence paragraph which answers the question: “Why Did the Montgomery Bus Boycott Succeed?"

Identify the author’s position on the historical event
Identify and evaluate the author’s purpose in producing the document
Evaluate the source’s trustworthiness by considering genre, audience, and purpose

- Read Documents B and C, answer Guiding Questions, fill in graphic organizer ("Round 2") and record Claim B
- Read Documents D and E, answer Guiding Questions, fill in graphic organizer ("Round 3") and record Final Claim
Post Twice to Class Discussion
