Welcome to Spring 2024!

picture of female instructor My name is Edith Guillén-Núñez and I teach in the Community Mental Health Worker Certificate, Health Education Department. The courses that I teach are Health 88: Family Systems; Health 102: Helping Relationships - Recovery & Wellness; and Health 104: Internship Placement & Professional Conduct in Mental Health. The curriculum for these courses and program are based on the wellness and recovery model in mental health. The program is designed to train a diverse group of front-line health workers to provide culturally responsive mental health and recovery services in San Francisco. The program promotes hope, collaboration, and empowerment, and strives to build community throughout all of its courses.

Aside from teaching I work as the Associate Director of the Community Mental Health Worker Certificate, Coordinator of the California Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification, and Coordinate the Peer Career Mentor Program, a peer support program for the students in the program.
