Purpose
The purpose of this learning activity is for you to apply Sir Robert Peel's Principles of policing to law enforcement today.
Instructions
Use what you learned in this module, including the page on Peel's Principles, to work through the scenario below.
Assume you are the chief of police for your hometown and have decided to overhaul your law enforcement agency by implementing a community policing initiative aimed at improving public safety and trust between the police and the community. Use Sir Robert Peel's 9 Policing Principles as a guide.
For each principle, identify specific actions, programs, or methods of operation you want to see that fulfill the principle. Be as specific as possible and provide examples. Once you enter your answer, you will see an example to compare your ideas with.
As you think about your ideas, consider what you have learned so far from the law enforcement leaders you have listened to in the Beat Podcast series.
